History

In 1968 Hoyle and Diana Schweitzer founded the company Windsurfing International in Southern California to manufacture and sell the first WINDSURFER. The ‘Windsurfer’ was the original mass-produced sailboard and instant global hit for its ease of use and accessibility for all ages, weights, and skill levels.

In 2017 the Windsurfer was relaunched in a global initiative to grow the sport of windsurfing. The original board was given a complete overhaul and was adopted as an open board project by many of the world's most influential windsurfing brands.

Today there are passionate windsurfers all over the world.
